PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction of a system due to the data managed by a system firmware.SOLUTION: A firmware ROM 100 comprises a code area 101, a default area 103, and variable areas 105, 107. To the variable area 105, data (CV) which is essential for preboot created by an UEFI is written. To the variable area 105, global variables (GV) defined by the UEFI and data (UV) created by an OS are written. The variable area 105 is a record area in which write lock is possible in the firmware ROM. The UEFI performs write lock of the variable area 105 after completing preboot, and therefore rewriting of CV by the OS can be prevented. |
