<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode for a secondary battery in which adhesion intensity and quality can be made uniform for an insulating tape attached to the boundary portion between an active material coated area and an active material non-coated area of an electrode.SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing an electrode in which the boundary portion between an active material layer 3a coated on the surface of a current collector 2 and an active material non-coated region 4 is coated with an insulating tape 5 straddling across the layer 3a and the region 4, a heat-welding insulation tape 5 is disposed in the neighborhood of the boundary portion between the active material layer 3a and the active material non-coated region 4, and the insulating tape is pressed against the current collector 2 by heating dies 6, 7 so as to be heat-welded to the current collector 2. A temperature condition for first and second impulse heaters 8, 9 provided to the heating dies 6, 7 is that the heating temperature of the second impulse heater 9 corresponding to the active material non-coated region 4 is set to be lower than the heating temperature of the first impulse heater 8 corresponding to the active material layer 3a.</p> |
