<p>Provided is a liquid crystal alignment agent for obtaining a liquid crystal display device having a variety of properties in a balanced manner. A polymer (P) is contained in a liquid crystal alignment agent wherein the polymer is obtained by using in a reaction at least one compound (C′) selected from a group comprising: a compound (C) containing the following structure (a) and the following structure (b); and a compound (C1) containing the following structure (a) and the following structure (b1) and not bound with a reactive group involved in polymerization of an aromatic ring group of the following structure (a). (a) is an aromatic amine structure formed as two or three aromatic ring groups are bound to a same nitrogen atom; and (b) is a chain structure such as a divalent chain hydrocarbon group having six or more carbon atoms. (b1) is a divalent chain hydrocarbon group having one to five carbon atoms, -O-, -S- structures and so on.</p> |
