The present invention relates to a tester for a linear variable resistor. In order to increase test reliability and to reduce test time of the linear variable resistor, the tester for the linear variable resistor of the present invention includes: a tank which stores an insulating oil which will be filled in an enclosure where the linear variable resistor is accommodated; a pump which transports the insulating oil stored in the tank to the enclosure according to a control command of the controller; a sensor which delivers a sensing value of sensing resistance characteristics as moving along the linear variable resistor by being contacted to the linear variable resistor to the controller; a driver which drives the sensor to move along the linear variable resistor according to the control command of the controller; and a controller which controls the operation of each component according to a command of a user, and judges the state of the linear variable resistor on the basis of the sensing value.
