Disclosed is a method for controlling a gateway, which communicates with at least one sensor and a service sever. The method may include: receiving first information, including at least one from biometric information, disaster prevention information, and public information, from at least one sensor; transmitting the first information to the service sever if the first information is in accordance with a first standard, or transmitting the first information to the service server after processing the first information into a first standard format if the first information is not in accordance with the first standard; receiving a control command for controlling the sensor from the service server; and transmitting the control command to a sensor corresponding to the control command.
