PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device for pattern projection that is configured to be ultra-compact and requires no mechanical operation to resolve phase connection problems.SOLUTION: A light emitting device for pattern projection includes: means for storing n patterns (n is an integer of 1 or more and A or less); synchronous signal input means for indicating the timing for pattern projection; PWM means for creating a pulse width according to the stored pattern data; A semiconductor type light emitting elements (A is an integer of 1 or more) arranged side by side in a straight line; and means for driving the semiconductor light emitting elements. The light emitting device for pattern projection further includes an optical element that two-dimensionally spreads the light emission patterns arranged side by side in a straight line.
