According to one embodiment, a display device includes a plurality of first lines, a plurality of second lines, a plurality of swith elements, a plurality of pixel electrodes, a plurality of third lines, a display layer, and a controller. The plurality of first lines extend in a first direction. The plurality of second lines extend in a second direction. The plurality of third lines extend in the second direction. The switch elements are electrically connected to the first lines and the second lines. The pixel electrodes are connected to the switch elements. The display layer performs an optical operation based on an electrical signal applied to the pixel electrodes. The controller includes at least one switch connected between the second lines and the third lines.

1. A display device, comprising:
a plurality of first lines extending in a first direction to be arranged in a second direction intersecting the first direction; a plurality of second lines extending in the second direction to be arranged in the first direction; a plurality of switch elements, each of the plurality of switch elements being electrically connected to one of the plurality of first lines and one of the plurality of second lines; a plurality of pixel electrodes electrically connected respectively to the plurality of switch elements; a plurality of third lines extending in the second direction to be arranged in the first direction; a display layer performing an optical operation of at least one of a light emission or a change of an optical characteristic based on an electrical signal applied to the plurality of pixel electrodes; and a controller including at least one switch connected between the second lines and the third lines.
