HUMANIZED IL-6 AND IL-6 RECEPTOR

Genetically modified murine animals that comprise a replacement of endogenous murine IL-6 and/or IL-6 receptor genes are described, as well as methods for making and using the animals. Genetically modified murine animals comprising a replacement at an endogenous IL-6Ra locus of a murine ectodomain-encoding sequence with human ectodomain-encoding sequence are provided. Genetically modified murine animals comprising a human IL-6 gene under control of murine IL-6 gene under control of murine IL-6 regulatory elements are also provided, including animals that have a replacement of murine IL-6-encoding sequence with human IL-6-encoding sequence at an endogenous murine IL-6 locus.
