A method and a device for predicting a personality trait are disclosed. The method for predicting a personality trait comprises the steps of: collecting a personal life log from a social network; extracting each user action variable by analyzing the personal life log through a triple structure, defining an object for action of a user, and generating a user action matrix; analyzing the personal life log to derive a degree of interaction between the user and a friend and deriving a friendship characteristic variable by using the derived degree of interaction; analyzing the personal life log to derive a moving path characteristic variable by using position information left by the user for each feed; and predicting the personality trait by applying the user action variable, the friendship characteristic variable, and the moving path characteristic variable to four learned personality trait models.
