PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power storage device having remarkably higher volume energy density than conventional power storage devices.SOLUTION: In a power storage device, a housing case 1 in which an electrode group is accommodated has confronting first and second main walls 11 and 12, first and second side walls 13 and 14 through which the first and second main walls 11 and 12 are connected to each other at the right and left sides, a top wall 15 having an external terminal and a bottom wall 16. The electrode group is accommodated in the housing case 1 while both the end faces of the electrode group in the lamination direction of positive and negative electrode plates confront the inner surfaces of the first and second main walls 11, 12, respectively. Plural positive electrode tabs which are provided to the plural positive electrode plates so as to be near to the first side wall 13 and plural negative electrode tabs which are provided to the plural negative electrode plates so as to be near to the second side wall 14 project from the end faces of the electrode group which confronts the top wall 15. A recess portion 17 which is recessed to the position between the positive electrode tab and the negative electrode tab is formed on the top wall 15 of the housing case 1. |
