摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent display quality from decreasing by reducing variance in luminance ratio of light transmitted through a liquid crystal panel for a luminance ratio set according to a frame.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device (101) includes: a video signal processing part (2) which divides one frame of a video signal into a plurality of sub-frames; a cycle division part (15) which divides one sub-frame into periods of a plurality of different cycles; and a pulse-width modulation part (20) which generates a pulse signal for making LEDs emit light so that the LEDs emit the light, in a superimposed manner, in a period of a certain cycle among the cycles divided by the cycle division part (15). The pulse-width modulation part (20) divides the periods of the plurality of different cycles obtained by dividing the one sub-frame into a specific period of the certain cycle in which the plurality of LEDs illuminate and a non-specific period of other cycles in which at least one of the plurality of LEDs turns off, and generates the pulse signal for turning on the LEDs in each of division cycles obtained by dividing the specific period of the certain cycle into a predetermined number of divisions.
