According to the present invention, reforming control, wherein a fuel for reforming is injected by a fuel-for-reforming injection valve (35) and the fuel for reforming is reformed by a fuel reforming catalyst (36) to generate a reformed gas, is executed when a prescribed reforming control execution condition is realized. Therein, the pressure of an EGR gas near an injection location (the pressure of the EGR gas that passes through the injection location of the fuel for reforming) is detected by a pressure sensor (38), and the injection time of the fuel for reforming is set so as to be synchronized with the pressure pulsation of the EGR gas near the injection location. For example, the injection time of the fuel for reforming is set such that the injection period of the fuel for reforming spans the point in time at which the pressure of the EGR gas near the injection location reaches a peak value. Due to this, the pressure of the EGR gas (EGR gas flow rate) near the injection location at each injection time of the fuel for reforming is made approximately constant, and the mixing ratio of the EGR gas and the fuel for reforming at each injection of the fuel for reforming is made approximately constant. |
