PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp a focal distance.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging unit; a display unit for displaying a stereoscopic image composed of a left-eye image and a right-eye image while allowing transparently viewing at least a portion of the imaging area of the imaging unit; a focal distance adjustment unit which adjusts the focal distance of the imaging unit; and a display controller which generates the left-eye image and the right-eye image and causes the display unit to display the images such that a display object indicating the focal distance may be seen at a depth position corresponding to the focal distance. This invention can be applied to an imaging device, for example.
