PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix EL display device for which prime costs are reduced by removing defective TFT substrates before depositing an EL material so as to increase the proportion of the perfects to the whole lot of final products.SOLUTION: Each pixel is provided with an inspection capacitor 9108 that is electrically connected to a drain region of a driving TFT 9106 and is electrically connected in parallel to an EL element 9105. By checking the charging or discharging of the inspection capacitor 9108, whether or not the driving TFT 9106 correctly operates is determined before the deposition of an EL material. |
