摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material which is suitable for a negative electrode of a lithium ion secondary battery high in capacity and superior in cycle characteristics; and to provide a negative electrode and a lithium ion secondary battery which are arranged by use of such a negative electrode material.SOLUTION: A negative electrode material for lithium ion secondary batteries comprises particles which includes silicon and is capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions. In a volume-based distribution of the particles measured by a particle-size-distribution-measuring device according to laser diffraction, (Mode Diameter-D)/Dis 0.13 or more, and (D-Mode Diameter)/Dis 0.28 or less, where Mode Diameter represents the most frequent value, Dis a cumulative 50%-particle size, and Dis a cumulative 90%-particle size.
