<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing technology which can achieve an increase in material yield even when heat treatment is applied to a shaft-like workpiece.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a shaft-like workpiece comprises: a heat treatment step (ST04) of applying heat treatment to a semifinished product to obtain a heat-treated product; a center hole correction step (ST05) of correcting a center hole in the heat-treated product to obtain a corrected product; and a secondary machining step (ST06) of machining the corrected product by using the corrected center hole. In the center hole correction step (ST05), only an inclination of the center whole is corrected while a diameter of the center hole in the heat-treated product is enlarged. Thereby, man-hours are not increased since only the inclination with respect to the inclined center hole is corrected. Since the center hole has been corrected, a cutting margin can be less in the secondary machining step. Thus, even when the heat treatment is applied to a shaft-like workpiece, material yield can be increased.</p> |
