METHOD OF TREATING TIBIAL SPINE FRACTURE IN CHILDREN

FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: arthroscope is inserted through a lateral port created at the inferior external border of the patella. Tibial spine fragments are reduced by means of an arthroscopic probe. Two guide pins are delivered through additional 5-mm incisions at internal and external borders of an inferior pole of the patella to the tibial spine fragments and used to fix the fragments temporarily. The fragments put together are X-ray controlled and fixed with biodegradable cannulated screws inserted along the guide pins up to the growth zone. The guide pins are removed.EFFECT: method enables improving the fragment compression and avoiding the recurrent surgical operation otherwise needed to remove the devices inserted before.5 dwg
