PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically classify the detection information of potential shots and scenes.SOLUTION: A device for classifying pre-processing video information derived from video content before processing the video content includes a categorizer for identifying at least one of scenes and shots in the video content having possibility that an error occurs during following processing, and for classifying the identified scenes and shots into two or more categorizes on the basis of at least the pre-processing video information. The following processing includes video encoding, and the identification is based on information from the past result obtained from one or more preceding pre-processing steps executed to at least one of the video content and the other video content or the value of a threshold scene period dynamically calculated on the basis of information from statistical analysis executed concerning the pre-processing video information by further classifying a scene which is shorter or longer than the value of the threshold scene period. |
