Provided are a data transmission method and apparatus, which can enhance a throughput rate of a system and improve data transmission performance and user experience. The method comprises: determining a target bit sequence according to a preset rule, a system state and a data length of target data sent to a reception end, the data length of the target data being smaller than a data length corresponding to the target bit sequence in the preset rule, a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) corresponding to the target bit sequence being smaller than a PAPR corresponding to the bit sequence corresponding to the data length of the target data in the system state, and the PAPR corresponding to the target bit sequence being smaller than a transmit power amplification limit of a sending end; and carrying the target bit sequence in a length bit of a conventional signaling field of a target preamble, and performing transmit power enhancement processing on a conventional short training domain field, a conventional long training domain field and a conventional signaling field in the target preamble according to the transmit power amplification limit. |
