CLIENT-SERVER COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A system is provided for deterministically calculating a classical universal function using a client device and server device each having both classical and quantum components. A quantum state comprising at least one qubit is generated in one of the client device and the server device. At least one quantum manipulation is performed on the qubit(s) in at least one of the client device and the server device. The quantum manipulation depends upon the at least one classical input variable. A classical universal function of the at least one classical input variable is calculated by supplying a result of the quantum manipulation to at least one classical non-universal logic gate in the client device. The value(s) of the at least one classical input variable remain hidden from the server throughout the calculation.
