The present invention relates to a mobile device and, more specifically, to a mobile device for generating personally customized contents based on movies and a method thereof, the method comprising the steps of: executing movie content; extracting a place from the executed movie content; displaying a list of main places displayed in the movie on a screen; selecting a user interest place of the list of places; extracting information of characters when detecting the place selection; displaying a list of characters on the screen; selecting a counterpart of a user in the list of characters; inducing taking a picture or a movie related to the place or the counterpart when detecting the counterpart selection; and generating a content reconstructed by the user and the counterpart on the basis of the taken picture or movie.
