PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate detection system for improving the operability of an instruction tool.SOLUTION: A coordinate detection system 100 for detecting coordinates instructed by an instruction tool 110 having a tip part including a conical shape or a truncated cone shape for performing an instructing operation on the board surface of a coordinate input device 101 includes: two-dimensional image sensor parts 103a and 103b disposed at the predetermined positions of the board surface; detection means for detecting two oblique sides of the conical shape or truncated cone shape of the tip part of the instruction tool 110 on the basis of a first photographic image photographed by the two-dimensional image sensor part 103a, and for detecting the two oblique sides of the conical shape or truncated cone shape of the tip part of the instruction tool 110 on the basis of a second photographic image photographed by the two-dimensional image sensor part 103b; and calculation means for calculating the coordinates of the vertex of the tip part on the board surface on the basis of the intersection of the two oblique sides detected on the basis of the first photographic image and the intersection of the two oblique sides detected on the basis of the second photographic image. |
