PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input system capable of inputting coordinates of an indicator even when a power supply for emitting the indicator is consumed when inputting the coordinates by combining coordinate detection based on emission of the indicator and coordinate detection based on light interruption.SOLUTION: The coordinates of an indication tool 13 in a coordinate input region (a surface of a display 200) are detected by receiving light emission of the indication tool 13 by detection units 11a-11d. When light applied from peripheral light-emitting units 15a-15d to the coordinate input region and arriving at the detection units 11a-11d is interrupted by a finger or the like which is not shown, the coordinates of the finger or the like are detected. When voltage of a battery for emitting the indication tool 13 is reduced to a predetermined first level, the indication tool 13 emits light by a predetermined light-emitting pattern. When the predetermined light-emitting pattern is received by the detection units 11a-11d, a computer 100 can detect the coordinates of the indication tool 13 on the basis of interruption of the light. |
