Provided is a marine boiler (1) equipped with: a burner (3); a VOC gas supply unit (60) that supplies VOC gas to the interior of a furnace (2); and a control device (50) that adjusts the amount of combustion fuel supplied to the burner (3) and the amount of combustion air supplied to the burner (3), thereby controlling the operation of the boiler within a prescribed load range. The control device (50) has a limited operation mode wherein the boiler is operated in a limited load range, such that the VOC gas flowing into the furnace (2) from the VOC gas supply unit (60) and guided to a gas outlet (8) is maintained at or above a prescribed temperature, and is held in the furnace (2) for a prescribed amount of time or longer. |
