PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing a multi-discharge phenomenon in an ignition plug.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine 11, a ceiling surface 16B of a combustion chamber 16 is formed in an umbrella shape, and an ignition plug 17 is installed on a top portion of the combustion chamber 16. A recession 30 is formed at a position on an intake introduction port 18A side relative to the ignition plug 17 on the ceiling surface 16B of the combustion chamber 16. Of a gap 16A between a top surface of a piston 15 in an outer edge of the top surface of the piston 15 and the ceiling surface 16B of the combustion chamber 16, the gap 16A (thickness TI) at a position on the intake introduction port 18A side relative to the ignition plug 17 is smaller than the gap 16A (thickness TE) at a position on an exhaust discharge port 19A side relative to the ignition plug 17. |
