PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic package for mounting a light emitting element, which can efficiently reflect light from a light emitting element and achieve high reliability.SOLUTION: A ceramic package 10 of the present embodiment for mounting a light emitting element comprises: a ceramic substrate 11; and a mounting part 34, 35 capable of mounting a light emitting element 21, which is provided on a substrate principal surface 12 of the ceramic substrate 11. The ceramic substrate 11 is composed of ceramic layers 15-17 which consist primarily of aluminum oxide and are arranged in a layered manner. The ceramic layers 15-17 includes first ceramic layers 15, 17 each having a first refraction index and a second ceramic layer 16 which contains a high-refractive inorganic material 19 having a second refraction index higher than the first refraction index. The first ceramic layer 15 is arranged in an outermost on the substrate principal surface 12 side. On the other hand, the second ceramic layer 16 is arranged closer to a substrate rear face 13 side than the first ceramic layer 15. |
