PURPOSE:To obtain a basic mode parallel to an extending direction within oprical waveguides by providing an effective light amplifying region flowing local current in a vertical direction on the layer face of laminar optical waveguides including an active layer, and forming periodically varying region which waves in the extending direction of the optical waveguides thereby feeding back the emission from the effective light amplifying reion to the amplifying region. |
