The purpose of the present invention is to improve operability in an input operation that uses operating bodies which come in contact with or approach an operation surface. Provided is an input method for performing an input operation on the basis of information relating to operating bodies (61) brought into contact with or approaching an operating surface (11), wherein the input method comprises: a mode selection step in which either a coordinate input mode or a function input mode is selected on the basis of the number of operating bodies (61); a function selection step in which a desired function is selected on the basis of a first operation corresponding to the number of operating bodies (61); an item selection step in which a desired item is selected on the basis of a second operation corresponding to the action of the operating bodies (61); a finalizing step in which selection is finalized on the basis of a third operation corresponding to the action of the operating bodies (61); and an execution step in which input is executed on the basis of a fourth operation corresponding to the action of the operating bodies (61). In the function input mode, in a state in which the contact or approach of the plurality of operating bodies (61) with respect to the operating surface (11) is maintained, the first operation, the second operation, the third operation, and the fourth operation are performed consecutively. |
