FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: claimed mandrel can be used in pipe rolling. Said mandrel includes working and gaging sections. Better processing of cast structure at sleeve piercing at helical rolling mills is ensured by application of definite-shape-and-size concentric grooves on mandrel working profile without reaching its gaging section, Angles between grooves and mandrel axis are specified. First groove is applied on the mandrel when secondary stable grip of the workpiece is effected.EFFECT: application of mandrel allows making of pipes with metal structure meeting the requirements of appropriate standards, decreased metal loss.3 dwg
