FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a printable surface formed by a polymer composition consisting of at least one vinylidene chloride/alkyl acrylate polymer containing about 3.4 to about 6.7 mol % of monomer units derived from at least one alkyl acrylate monomer polymerised with the vinylidene chloride, containing a plasticiser and having at least one of the following composition components (1) and (2): (1) at least one low molecular weight vinyl chloride polymer having molecular weight of at most about 70000 Da in an amount of about 0.5 to about 3 wt %, relative to the total weight of the polymer composition, to increase affinity for at least one ink; and (2) at least one methacrylic polymer in an amount of about 0.5 to about 3.5 wt %, relative to the total weight of the polymer composition, to increase the affinity for at least one ink.
