The present invention relates to a communication method using a bandwidth requesting channel, a user terminal performing the same, and a base station. The communication method whereby a user terminal transmits data to the base station through a bandwidth requesting channel includes the steps of: generating a preamble for requesting a bandwidth; determining whether a message for requesting a bandwidth is generated; generating a first signal value to be calculated with the preamble if the message is determined to have been generated, or generating a second signal value to be calculated with the preamble if the message is determined not to have been generated; computing the preamble and the generated first signal value or the generated second signal value; and transmitting a signal, including the computed preamble, to the base station. Therefore, overhead, generated when bandwidth requesting information is demodulated is reduced.
