A vehicle cleaning apparatus for removing dirt from a vehicle as the vehicle drives over the apparatus. The apparatus comprises a trackway comprising a plurality of transversely extending members which are spaced longitudinally along the trackway. The trackway comprises a raised section comprising a first set of the transversely extending members, and a ramp arranged to allow the vehicle to travel between the raised section and a lower end of the ramp. The ramp comprises a second set of the transversely extending members. The first set of the transversely extending members comprises a first subset and a second subset of the transversely extending members. The transversely extending members of the first subset are raised with respect to those in the second subset. The second set of the transversely extending members comprises a third subset and a fourth subset of the transversely extending members. The transversely extending members of the third subset are raised with respect to those in the fourth subset.
