<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stationary blade for a steam turbine from which drain can be removed, which allows enlargement of a stationary blade, and has high accuracy in slit width, and to provide a method for assembling the same. <P>SOLUTION: The stationary blade includes: an airfoil part 8; a shroud 9A provided on the inner peripheral side or the outer peripheral side of the airfoil part 8; and a slit piece 20 attached to a wall surface 10 of the shroud 9A.
