<p>The device (1) has an auxiliary channel (8) connected to a breathable gas source (25) to insufflate a jet of breathable gas e.g. pure oxygen, via a distal orifice (18) arranged before a distal end (7) of a main channel (5). A diversion unit (36) diverts a volume fraction of the gas before the gas enters the auxiliary channel. An aspiration unit (38) is driven by the diverted gas to aspirate ambient air. The aspiration unit is connected to a fluid communication orifice (34) such that the communication orifice conveys a mixture of the air and the diverted fraction of gas into the main channel.</p> |
