The present invention relates to a data reading method enabling a memory controller to read data from a nonvolatile memory. The data reading method according to the present invention includes the steps of: reading the data from the memory cells of the nonvolatile memory; storing the data in an internal memory; overwriting a part of data stored in the internal memory with backup data; correcting an error by using the backup data stored in the internal memory; and overwriting the backup data stored in the internal memory with the data corrected by correcting an error.
