Provided are a user terminal device and a display method thereof. The user terminal device comprises a display part having a first area and a second area folded forward based on a folding line to face each other, so that the outer part of a part of the second area is exposed to the outside; a detection part detecting a first user interaction moved along a long edge of the area exposed to the outside, and a second user interaction moved along a short edge of the area exposed to the outside; a control part when the first user interaction is detected through the detection part, displaying an application executing screen proving a function on the area exposed to the outside, and when the second user interaction is detected, controlling the display part to display the application executing screen providing a second function different from the first function.
