<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device in which occurrence of a scratch is suppressed and a recording device. <P>SOLUTION: A printer includes a conveying unit which has a roller pair of a drive roller for driving and a driven roller to be driven to convey continuous paper. The printer is configured to include a drive gear 28b which drives together with the drive roller, a driven gear 31b which meshes with the drive gear 28b thereby transmitting driving force to cause the driven roller to be driven, and a switching device for switching a first mode having a first positional relation that the drive roller and the driven roller cooperate to hold the continuous paper therebetween and the drive gear 28b and the driven gear 31b mutually mesh to transmit driving force, and a second mode having a second positional relation that the drive roller and the driven roller are separated farther than in the first positional relation so that the meshing of the drive gear 28b and the driven gear 31b is released and the driving force is not transmitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
