Systems and a method generally relate to data processing and, more specifically, to a system and a method for synchronizing and detecting data. The method for data processing includes: a step of comparing a synchronization mark pattern and data input to calculate a plurality of instances of a comparison matrix; a step of comparing at least one of the instances of the comparison matrix with a critical value; a step of asserting first synchronization discovery output when one of the instances of the comparison matrix is lower than the critical value; a step of asserting second synchronization discovery output at a location corresponding to the minimum value of the instances of the comparison matrix; and a step of aligning the process input drawn from the data input by using an alignment circuit.
