<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet head which achieves displacement of an actuator based on a new principle. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator 23 of a head 6 includes a vibration plate 37, a common electrode 39, a piezoelectric body 41, and an individual electrode 43 and an outer side electrode 45, which are sequentially stacked on an upper surface 21a. A first region R1 is defined to be a region of the piezoelectric body 41 which overlaps a body 43a of the individual electrode 43. A second region R2 is defined to be a region of the piezoelectric body 41 which is located between the body 43a of the individual electrode 43 and a body 45a of the outer side electrode 45. The regions R1 and R2 each have a polarization direction in the stack direction in the actuator 23. A drive signal-outputting section 8 impresses a voltage between the individual electrode 43 and the outer side electrode 45 in a direction for causing shear deformation in which a shear-deformed part position of the second region R2 is located nearer to a liquid pressurizing chamber 31 as the part of the second region R2 approaches the first region R1, while impressing a voltage between the individual electrode 43 and the common electrode 39 in the polarization direction of the first region R1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
