PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material for a nonaqueous secondary battery having a high capacity and showing excellent input-output characteristics even under low temperatures, and a method for manufacturing the material comprising only a small number of steps to achieve stable, efficient, and low-cost manufacture.SOLUTION: The negative electrode material contains at least a carbon material (A) capable of intercalating and releasing lithium ions and a group-13 element (B) of the periodic table, and has a surface concentration value X/C in the range of 0.05 to 8% and a surface abundance ratio of 2 or greater. |
