PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermally expandable microcapsule capable of easily suppressing a flocculation.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the thermally expandable microcapsule includes: a process for suspending an oily substance that contains a polymerizable monomer, a volatile liquid, and a polymerization initiator in an aqueous dispersing medium; a process for obtaining slurry in which core-shell particles disperse by polymerizing the polymerizable monomer; and a process adding a di- or multivalent metal salt to the slurry in which the core-shell particles disperse and then stirring it. |
