<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method which are configured to suppress occurrence of a difference in the effect of suppressing collapse of characters and fine line images in a high concentration region in the vicinity of 100%, and in the effect of reducing jaggy feeling of half-tone characters and the fine line images even when input solutions are different from each other. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: edge determination means 102 for determining whether or not it is an edge part from image data; edge redetermination means 103 that redetermines to be the edge part by enlarging an edge region of the image data on the basis of a determination result in the edge determination means 102; processing means 105 for performing different processing on the image data determined as the edge part and the image data determined as a non-edge part by the edge determination means 102 and the edge redetermination means 103; and change means 104 for changing a content of redetermination processing by the edge redetermination means 103 on the basis of an input resolution of the image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
