<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that reduces color mixture. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes: a development cartridge 56M for magenta that contains magenta toner; a development roller for magenta; a photoreceptor drum 51M for magenta; a development cartridge 56C for cyan that contains cyan toner; a development roller for cyan; a photoreceptor drum 51C for cyan that is arranged on the downstream side in a conveying direction of a sheet S relative to the photoreceptor drum 51M for magenta; storage means that stores the cumulative number of rotations of the development roller for magenta and the cumulative number of rotations of the development roller for cyan; and determination means that determines that, when the cumulative number of rotations of the development roller for magenta exceeds a first threshold, the development cartridge 56M for magenta has reached its replacement period, and, when the cumulative number of rotations of the development roller for cyan exceeds a second threshold, the development cartridge 56C for cyan has reached its replacement period.
