A suction actuated valve for a dry powder inhaler comprises a trigger assembly in fluid communication with a control chamber and having a trigger 330 coupled to a displaceable membrane or diaphragm in the form of an elastic dish 320 which seals a suction control chamber 343 and is displaceable by suction from a mouthpiece, via inlet 342, to provide an opening force to move the trigger 330 away from a cut-out 351 in a pushing bar 351 which unlatches the bar from a configuration in which an elastic tube 411 providing a lumen for compressed air is deformed and occluded, to a configuration in which the biasing force of elastic tube 410 pushes the bar away opening the lumen 411. The displaceable membrane 320 has a cross-sectional area greater than the trigger 330 to provide a mechanical advantage for moving the trigger. |
