<p>The method involves guiding a fabric e.g. press felt (1), in a longitudinal direction over two spaced apart supporting members (2a, 2b), and applying longitudinal stretching force to the fabric. A region of the fabric along the entire width and a certain length of the fabric is exposed to saturated steam at a pressure of 101.4 to 120.0 kilo Pascals (kPa) and at a temperature of 100 to 130 degrees Celsius. Another region of the fabric downstream of the former region is exposed to superheated steam at a pressure of 101.4 to 120.0 kPa and at a temperature of 160 to 200 degrees Celsius. An independent claim is also included for a device for thermal fixing of a woven fabric.</p> |
