The present invention relates to a 3D image display device and a driving method thereof and, more specifically, to a 3D image display device having shutter eyeglasses and a driving method thereof. The present invention provides the 3D image display device including: a display panel having a plurality of pixels and a plurality of data lines; a date driving unit applying data voltage to the data lines; and a signal control unit receiving an input image signal from the outside to generate an output image signal and controlling the data driving unit, wherein the signal control unit has a signal compensation unit compensating the input image signal with a clipping gray scale level lower than a maximum gray scale level when the input image signal becomes the maximum gray scale level.
