An aerostatic bearing (1) comprises a bearing base (2) that includes an annular projecting portion (6) integrally projecting from one surface of a base portion (4) and an air supply passage (11) which opens on a projecting end surface of the annular projecting portion (6) at one end and opens on an outer circumferential surface of the base portion (4) at the other end, a bearing body (3) that includes an annular recess (33) accommodating the annular projecting portion (6) of the bearing base (2) and a plurality of air outlet holes (38) communicating with the annular recess groove (33), and a self-excited vibration damping mechanism (A) that attenuates the self-excited vibration caused by blowing off of the air from the air outlet holes (38) via the annular recess groove (33). |
