<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine configured to be able to suppress the generation of condensate water in a water cooled intercooler.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises: an intercooler 24; an intercooler cooling water circuit 60 in which cooling water supplied to the intercooler 24 circulates; a water pump 52; and a radiator 62. Parallel passages 64 constituted by a first passage 64a and a second passage 64b are interposed in a region of the intercooler cooling water circuit 60 between the intercooler 24 and the water pump 52. The first passage 64a comprises a tank 66 which is filled with gas in replacement of the cooling water. The tank 66 includes a heating wire 66a heating the cooling water in the tank 66. On-off valves 54 and 56 are provided to switch the passage of the cooling water flowing in the parallel passages 64 over between the first passage 64a and the second passage 64b. First and second fluid replacement operations are performed for moving air between the intercooler 24 and the tank 66.</p> |
