This female terminal (10) is configured to have: a cylinder section (14) configured in a cylindrical shape by peripheral walls and allowing a male terminal (11) to be inserted therein; and elastic sections (23, 26) formed extending toward the inside of the cylinder section (14) from a bottom wall (15) and a ceiling wall (17) and coming into elastic contact with the male terminal (11). The elastic sections (23, 26) have: linear contact sections (29, 31) capable of coming into linear sliding contact with the male terminal (11); contact point sections (25, 28) coming into point-contact with the male terminal (11); and gradually changing sections (30, 32) formed in regions leading from the termination ends (29B, 31B) of the linear contact sections (29, 31) to the tops (25A, 28A) of the contact point sections (25, 28), the gradually changing sections (30, 32) being formed so as not to protrude beyond planes flush with the contact surfaces (29A, 31A) of the linear contact sections (29, 31), the contact surfaces (29A, 31A) coming into contact with the male terminal (11), the area of contact of the gradually changing sections (30, 32) with the male terminal (11) gradually decreasing toward the contact point sections (25, 28). |
