PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of condensate water in a merger section where EGR gas merges with intake air in relation to an internal combustion engine in which the EGR gas is introduced into an intake passage upstream of a compressor.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises: a low-temperature EGR passage 34a introducing low-temperature EGR gas into an intake passage 12 upstream of a compressor 24a; and a high-temperature EGR passage 34b introducing high-temperature EGR gas into the intake passage 12 upstream of the compressor 24a. An EGR merger portion has a double tube structure including part of the intake passage 12 as an inner pipe 12a and part of the high-temperature EGR passage 34b as an outer pipe 34b1. The outer pipe 34b1 has an inlet 34b2 introducing the high-temperature EGR gas into the outer pipe 34b1, and an outlet 34b3 formed upstream in a direction of a flow of the intake air of the inlet 34b2 and introducing the high-temperature EGR gas into the inner pipe 12a. The low-temperature EGR passage 34a introduces the low-temperature EGR gas into the inner pipe 12a at the same position in the direction of the flow of the intake air as that of the outlet 34b3 of the outer pipe 34b1. |
